BRUCE LEE AND BODYBUILDING (first part)

Introduction

This post and subsequent concerned with the relationship between Bruce Lee and the world of Bodybuilding . I will refer to this, with my translation correct in substance but not perfect and do not quote the entire text, to an article published on the website of one of the most important bodybuilder of all time: Mike Mentzer 1 ) .

Mentzer was born in America, Pennsylvania, November 15, 1951 and died in Los Angeles on June 10, 2001. He was also known for his method of training known as Heavy Duty. Of course, for more information about him should be found.

who kindly read this blog regularly knows that I wrote about Bruce Lee and strengthening physical 2) . It can read, if you want, even after these other then.

And now, on ...

"AS WARM MARBLE" The physical lethal Bruce Lee

Come Mr. Little (n.b. John Little si è occupato con successo della traduzione Lee's writing, thanks to the consent of the wife of Bruce, and then put them in good order and publication as books) reports in his article, even someone like Joe Weider noted the astonishing muscle definition physicist Lee , especially his abs.

Little also explains how the physical preparation of Lee has significantly affected some of the most popular bodybuilders of all time as Lou Ferrigno, Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Rachel Mclish, Lenda Murray, Shawn Ray and Flex Wheeler .

........................................... ...................

I personally supervised the training of many martial artists who were impressed by the speed and strength of Bruce. I received e-mails, letters, phone calls from practitioners of martial arts more than any other athlete. I think because they were affected "obsession" with Bruce on the physical preparation.

I am very proud to say that one of my best friends in the last 22 years is the one who wrote this article and who has written several books on Lee.

I remember when I met for the first time in Toronto when I was Little John, Arnold and Franco we were present at ' Weider's IFBB 1979. He struck, among other things, his interest in bodybuilding. I saw him again later in my seminar in Toronto in 1980, always in the gym Lou Hollozi. And from there he established a relationship of friendship.

............................................ .............

E 'was then in 1992 Joe Weider led John to Los Angeles to write on "Flex".

...........................................

I hope you, dear reader, will gain much knowledge from reading the article by Little.

SOLITUDE martial art

There must be a reason we have chosen to practice martial arts or combat sports. Sports already has her particular individual but also . I have often reflected, and having so inspired by the observation about myself and other practitioners of these disciplines and almost all individual sports, a difference of character with those who carry a team sport.

The martial artist and a practitioner of combat sports is perhaps even more alone than any other individual sports enthusiasts during its course.

This does not mean that the athlete in question is an asocial .. quite the contrary.

q But hen you get on a ring or on a square but when you run a form, the martial artist is alone and can rely solely on its technical ability / athletic, hard on the advice of his coach.

E 'the martial artist's loneliness that in itself is also fascinating.

Sometimes it can be terrible, it takes so cool.

About ... the 'last night (or rather night) I saw a movie not too recently, " Yakuza" . One of his players at some point in the story decides to challenge the katana to help a friend of his. The film is a Japanese sword expert and the actor who the NTERPRETATION is good at handling it and I think he also participated in known film "Black Rain" with Michael Douglas . His name is Ken Takakura .

comes a time when our character in the film must face several opponents armed with a combat logic as possible (in the sense that the reality of a real expert katana can survive and kill several contenders) defeats them.

Quant or was this man ... and how much will have been large (in effect) Samurai. Among the best known Miyamoto Musashi.

I Samurai we know that they are not examples to follow. Think of them r ituale suicide.

E Rano however d elle actual war machines and in this almost perfect. Psychological help by a sense of detachment from life offered by Zen Buddhism were not afraid of death.

The Samurai represents very well the warrior who faces alone with courage and coolness of the danger. The blade of the opponent that touches his body . The decision, the exact calculation of how and when to attack. And when he does that can not be perfect, otherwise the injury or death.

Even 'martial artist or kickboxer sometimes addresses this solitude (certainly less dramatic ..) and the wins.

And when he comes home asked why he chose this sport e non un altro.

Misteri..

the hypocrisy of the "fist" MARTIAL ARTS

We must point out that not all AA.MM. perform this technique in the same way that some of them have moved away from their origins, their traditions and others do not. At the same Karate (in its various styles) fist is "pulled" in different ways.

But take the example of just such a type of Karate and punch known as the Japanese gyaku zuki (d irectly would be contrary to the lead leg).

Here it is in photo on the left (taken from the site http://mawashido.free.fr/imainsof.htm ).

Well if you have practiced or practiced this kind of Karate (Taekwondo but also and some styles of Kung Fu ) insegnaranno you to:

1) to lock the shoulder right, keeping parallel to the left

2) not to exaggerate to rotate the right hip (even if you can not turn in their ... )

E we would have to do during the forms or kata in Japanese.

Ci mancherebbe..Ma then I do not ROMPETECI BALLS saying you are the best, the strongest (or that all martial arts comes from your ..) WHY 'NOT' TRUE!

Get on a ring, fight in Mixed Martial Arts and then see what happens!

The worst thing for you, it would then be blamed by the great masters of AA.MM.

see in the picture after the spin gyaku zuki a great teacher of the past, Mas Oyama. Shoulder forward hip rotation and body weight on the hand. Not for nothing was the founder of Kyokushin Karate great athletes and some of the K-1 practice or have practiced. And you want more ..

Here's how to run the straight right the founder of Shotokan Karate (next photo, taken from http://www . shotokai.cl / ) Master Gichin Funakoshi.

Now many argue that many have moved away from teaching traditional of this great Master.

See also use the left hand ... I recommend you read the book Enzo Montanari (which I already mentioned on this blog) "Karate unknown", Ed Mediterranee.
short, some friends Martial Arts , try to learn more about your origins. You should!

MUAY THAI: TECHNIQUES IN COMBAT (last)

SAK PHUANG MALA

This is the latest technology (the previous 1) 2) ) point out that (as an example) than is the ancient martial art known as the Thai Muay Thai . In fact, often what we see on ring does not accurately reflect the art. Just think, in many matches are prohibited clinch not to mention the techniques of elbow Thai.

E 'is also just a of sporting Muay Thai (although in the past European champions as old Ramon Dekker) who fought in the match where they were expected elbow.

However, this technique Look Mai Muay Thai named Sak Phuang Malai (I also useful in self-defense ) is seen as a direct attack on the left - I would add also hook sn - do we protect ourselves by blocking with the right forearm and advancing it hits an elbow to the sternum.

I, as a non-specialist of Muay Thai, and I repeat that this art combat is waiting to be discovered and that goes beyond what we think or see. everything in its traditional character.

MUAY THAI: THE TECHNIQUES IN COMBAT (2A)

Ruess HERNE

Another technique (after the first has already been published 1) ) than Muay Thai unsportsmanlike or do not easily see the rings.

The Thai name is: Ruess Hern .

The picture, I think, speaks for itself. And that is the technique of football opponents, athlete Thai counterattacks (or almost simultaneously reacts to the butt of his opponent) jumping with both legs in the air (in fact in English is called the technique The ascetic's fly to the sky) and punches to the face (the temple) of his contender.

MUAY THAI: THE TECHNIQUES IN COMBAT (1A)

KLUERN GRATHOB FANG

Although not a specialist in Muay Thai known ease a big difference between those for and the use traditional sports. At the end of the day is a Thai 'martial art and what we see represented on the international ring (often to the exclusion of techniques elbow) is only a part of this ancient discipline combat.

I decided - then - some of post techniques (five) of Muay Thai (or Muay Boran?) that we could hardly see the square fighter. The techniques are listed with the reality Thai name.

Let's start from this (see photo), the first. Whose name is Kluern Grathob Fang.

PERFORMANCE:

- the opponent attacks with a straight right face, advancing defenders with his left leg to the right (while remaining in close contact of the opponent). At the same time, the attack by turning your torso to always destra ( e sfruttando la forza che ne scaturisce ) colpisce le costole dell'avversario con una gomitata.

Breast Broken Blood Vessels

VIDEO: BILL WALLACE D. VALERA against

Ma con this - hence the nickname "Superfoot - unable to perform the techniques in a fast and powerful .

One, in fact.

Bill Wallace is a myth full contact.

Dominique Valera - Francis, born in 1949 - was instead one of the best European athletes of Karate. Powerful legs "scioltissime" specialist techniques sweep at a World Championship - held in the U.S. - was disqualified for excessive contact. Valera took it badly. So much so that some suffered referee his anger ...

It was in the U.S. - then - it during the tournament Karate Bill Walach is a young Benny Urquidez they performed in Kickboxing.

aftermath of the race, he decided to learn Valera Bill Wallace. a fight ensued, in which it seems few people attended. The French athlete failed to place a shot was so hampered by the left leg Superfoot .

And thus the decision to switch from traditional Karate to Full Contact. Dominique moved to the U.S. and trained in their the guidance of Wallace . He started - later - the racing career of the French kickboxer.

In the remainder of the year remained loyal to the American fighter Kick Valera taken as a new way of practicing Karate . He also tried the experience of Muay Thai - Valera - and that is only to enrich and improve the experience of fighter.

The two are really two major of Martial Arts and Kickboxing.

I recently found in Network two videos where you see the two perform in a match demonstration in Paris in 1992. Really nice and interesting match. I kicked are stellar. Wallace performs several times his famous hook football and also to appreciate the superiority of American boxing in . Valera, who was also very good with the kicks, even a few square kick to the legs (which as you know are prohibited in full contact) , so that at the conclusion of the meeting demonstration sweeps American. But in a real meeting - I think - there would be no history against Wallace. two videos to see!

Cayce On Herniated Discs

fact on that day - for the first time - the Kung Fu Masters officially fought against wrestlers experts Thai Muay Thai.

What are the names Chinese and Thai protagonists of this event?

Here are two. In the photo above (left) is in fact visible Master of Kung Fu Han Hongdun in front of the Thai "Highland Tiger" Nai Yanhg .

The names of other maestri cinesi erano Zin Zheng, Wu Daqian e Fu Xingpeng e i combattimenti si svolsero presso il "Rose Garden" di Bangkok .

Fu chiamato - l'evento - "The Clash of the Tigers" .

Unfortunately, that there are no images match.

And this time things went differently . Li De managed to put more time in serious (perhaps even the carpet ) Thai. judges - clearly part - gave the win Yanhg Nal. But the more surprising was that Li De did not use the method of Kung Fu during the match but the Muay Thai!

There were other match - in 1929 and in 1930 - among the masters of Kung Fu and Muay Thai . The first time he won the exponent Chinese (named Jie Yun), the second time (the same Master of Kung Fu ) lost. He used during combat, not the but Kung Fu Muay Thai!

Obviously - since their first meeting - the Chinese understood that the technique Thai and ra to know and learn.

It is no coincidence that a great athlete the Thai Muay Thai - named Mahachon - Went to China (Canton ) to teach the Thai . Mahachon was the first Thai - expert in Muay Thai - to teach the art of fighting in this country. His club's called the "Guangzhou Muaythai" .

Apparently Mahachon appreciate some of the techniques of Sanda or Sanshou China, although personally I think the latter is a "product" of China ( mix of kickboxing and fight ) created in order to keep pace with the times and that is, with the new combat sport as Kickboxing and MMA.

"KICK" THE EYE INJURIES .... THE TECHNIQUE OF THE MONTH

Thanks to an "interview" friendly and I hope to have more and more with the kind readers of this blog, I encourage you to use (as often as possible) - when your fighting in the gym - all caps.

our enemy - to those who practice Kickboxing - it's called - in fact - accident.

Shin, shell helmet but also helps us to prevent trauma and microtrauma .

Over time every practitioner of Kick must have all the protections, of course must be personal.

The purchase of protection is not a please you do to your Master but it is a "favor" you do yourselves and your fellow gym.

Especially in the vicinity of the races is desirable to avoid trauma that can affect your future performance racing.

fought hard - if you will - in the gym but with caution and above eye to neophytes. There are those - for lack of experience - usually create the most accidents.

It takes time to become a good kickboxer ...

good workout ...........

What Happened To Deborah Sampson

survey results

(among those I proposed in the survey) readers and readers responded:

1) Peter Aerts with 45.5% of the votes
2nd) Jerome Le Banner with 27.3%
3rd) Other (then other athletes) with 18.2%
4th) Remy Bonjasky with 9.1%
5 °) and Glaube Feitosa Semmy Schilt with the 0.0% (!!!)

My Comment:
right - in my opinion - the victory dell'olandese Peter .

Feitosa and Schilt, zero votes! It 's a bit strange.

Many - though - were those who participated in this one poll.

Asked: "Dead Man Yip, who you think is the best exponent of Wing Chun?" , so readers and readers responded:

1) Bruce Lee with 43.8% of the votes
2nd) with Leung Ting 18.8%
3rd) Emin Boztepe and Wong Shun Leung tied with 12.5% \u200b\u200b
4th) William Cheung and KR Kernspecht tied with 6.3%

my comment :
wins Bruce Lee! Well, he is the myth .
Another note, fans of Wing Chun and Bruce Lee are naturally more ... participatory . Congratulations to them!

Bell'esperienza - this survey - to be repeated. A new soon .

These surveys were on line on this blog for three months.

Thanks to those who participated!

Does Vageta And Bulma Love Each Other

KICKBOXING: Physical Evaluation of the athlete - the end

continuation of previous post 1)

The conveyor belt is equipment ergometer more rational, since it involves natural movements like running and running.

kgm/min= kg peso x m/ora x inclinazione %

--------------------------------------

60 min

According to this formula, an athlete who runs 4 km / h and at 25% gradient does a work equivalent to that of a person who goes at a speed of 20 km / h at 5% slope. A similar equivalence does not exist in the assessment of the athlete, the latter with the first load (high slope and low speed), it stops early, with symptoms of fatigue , without expressing decent oxygen consumption in the second If, however, performance protatta would be much longer, would provide a good value for oxygen consumption and only belatedly you have muscle fatigue.

is why the test ergonometric the conveyor belt are often made without any slope.

E 'to keep in mind that with a speed exceeding 20 km / h is simulated race track, with a 12-km / h is simulated instead gear.

In our case, as part of an evaluation of an athlete Kickboxing, we should certainly assess the ability goodness or natural resistance to specific like that of an athlete dedicated to athletics. We can however, always under the guidance and advice of a doctor or sports medicine , evaluate
athletic training kickboxer.Ovvero of his endurance but also anaerobic.

Kickboxing distinction should be made also in the effort test according to the discipline practiced. If you are the athletes of full contact kickboxing your athletic effort is certainly different if instead practiced kickboxing or semi-contact point fighting .

It 'great to see how Prof. Dal Monte 2) recommend using the conveyor belt for athletes boxing (a discipline such as physical exercise can come close to that of full contact ).

Professor. Therefore, in for boxers to make three times travel on tape three minutes (depending on the specific situation and then the boxer, in this case an amateur. In fact, if I'm not mistaken they are still These are the times and the time of the match) interspersed a minute of rest.

goes without saying that under the guidance of a physician-athlete the coach a kickboxer with other tests can assess the reality of his athletic student.

Let this post that the previous two show some aptitude assessment test for the athlete to kickboxing in order to demonstrate, if ever it were needed!, The sports medicine and Kickboxing can and must go together.

would be desirable to delay the instructors of any sport (and thus also of Martial Arts and Combat Sports such as Kickboxing) have a training if university least basic motor on the A ctivities in general.

Training by ascertain through appropriate examinations.

repeat that only your doctor can evaluate the test that the athlete has to perform. Do not perform any sporting aptitude test without the guidance and presence of medical .

Wording For Congratulations On Engagement Card

KICKBOXING: ASSESSING THE NATURAL ATHLETE

ATTIDUNALE ATHLETE EVALUATION
Abstract
Drill or better teaching Kickboxing neglecting the very least the basics of sports medicine means live in an era Jurassica!
It 's impossible in fact - today - to neglect the medical culture and sports to cultivate any physical activity, including and perhaps especially if it is called Kickboxing.
If you have not attended the appropriate degree, nothing prevents you - but - all of us to inform us , read books by authors who can fill this important our absence and may be useful to improve our performance and sports culture.
Other premise Dover to this post is to point out that the topic deserves a adequate space in this short space is impossible to have .
Brief Introduction
part of sport and Kickboxing are several factors combine to determine h c the efficiency of athletes and these can be classified according to different principles .
Using special test are measured the isometric muscle s tapeworm, the ability to do work with anaerobic contraction of an oxygen debt alactacid, the cardiorespiratory endurance.
To evaluate the resistance is usually measured the resistance to prolonged muscular work through stress testing.
For the athlete kickboxing may be used for test common to all sport. I propose that there two very important.
The Harvard step-test (see photo) which is done by getting on and off the subject a step , at a specified frequency, for a period of 3 or 5 minutes .
The parameters considered are: maximum heart rate, blood pressure immediately after the end of the effort and - most importantly - the rapidity of recovery.
There are many techniques and calculation of step-test.

there is an alternative - but - And that is that you (during your journey martial or sport-fighter) have reached enlightenment!

Enlightenment, or the attainment of truth . And Enlightenment is the goal of Zen .

But beware, the Zen to which I refer is not a religion . Not the Indian Buddhism - from which it was derived from - but it's a f HILOSOPHY , experience.

Zen is the translation or pronunciation of Chan, Chinese word. And the Zen to which I refer is not even the Zen Buddhism !

The is related to Zen meditation, traditional meditation sitting cross-legged. Well Enlightenment even more authentic Zen Buddhism can be achieved not only during or through meditation .

Yet the Zen of which I speak there is no obligation of meditation!.

This can be done as a method to calm and control our breath as well as practice Chuck Norris, but probably is not even important.

For me Zen - in our sport - is open your eyes! Back when we were the first state to practice martial arts or combat sport or self defense systems (and the latter as there are ! ).

For me, the so-called thug - socially and morally to blame - is Zen!. He does not arise many questions, just beats. But beating.

Just to stay where we are - or on the Internet - if you go on You Tube using keywords Kung Fu, Aikido , Steven Segal, Thai Boxing, Gracie, and the like can see the videos that show various techniques of defense and probably on the same attack. many answers then.

But in all this chaos of "supply martial we risk losing our natural .

The Jeet Kune Do Bruce Lee of is Zen? The Zen of which I speak? I think so.

In the picture you see him in his school with some well-known students. And you can see on the wall drawings that symbolize the various stages that the practitioner of Jeet Kune Do through during his training. The last of these drawings, symbols is black (or blank ..). It is probably the initial state from which we started.

paraphrase a quote Zen , Bruce said of himself that "Before practicing martial arts, a punch was just a punch and a kick just a kick. During training, a handful became more of a punch and a kick more than a football. Following a handful returned to being just a punch and a kick just a kick. "

And JKD today - the one taught and offered by different teachers, even very good - is Zen? This not I know.

Finally, I lit ? Please, no joking . But I think I understand the meaning of Zen in Jeet Kune Do.

Blood Test Lupus Anticoagulant

RESPONSE TO "COSTEL"

be happy to answer Costel who asked me a couple of questions.
In order:

1) Full Contact Kickboxing The does not provide the kick in the legs (the so-called low kick )

2) The Kickboxing is a combat sport, so there is a martial art or a specific method for self-defense (if you want to read about my post on the subject defense ). Keep in mind though that many martial arts that are practiced today, in fact, have lost their true nature combat systems for the defense and offense both barehanded and with weapons (see, for example, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Judo ..).
Also not to be confused with the Kickboxing Muay Thai that if you performed well also teaches the use of techniques for knee and elbow are very useful in cases of self-defense. But the Thai will teach you not - however - specific techniques of street fighting (knife defense against multiple opponents, etc.).

3) PERO'...... ... the Full Contact Kickboxing is a great start! , because it teaches you the techniques of boxing (as a good defense) than those of the leg, also gives you an excellent athletic and prepares you for the real fight ( we always hope for many reasons not to face ever! ). It teaches you - in fact - to give and receive blows (who are punched or kicked) without your stay shocked .... ........ And 'in fact a combat sport in contact . So - in my opinion, especially if you are a beginner - the Kickboxing is a great choice!

4) Acquired experience because you think like the same high kicks that you can give them to the gym transform low kicks in for self-defense.
